New Zealand Exchange Rate Error for June AdSense Payment

Featured Home Page Discussion New Zealand Exchange Rate Error for June AdSense Payment

Has anyone checked their 'Payment Issued' details in adsense for June.

I just checked mine as the payment hadn't arrived yet, I usually get it a few days before the EOM.

And they've got the exchange rate wrong, they've reversed it!

So rather than getting 1 : 1.306 (USD to NZD) as I did last month, I'm getting 1 : 0.798 (USD to NZD).

Obviously it could be a display issue but until the payment hits my account I won't know for certain.

Anyway else noticing this error?

It appears to be affecting $NZ payments - here's a link to the Google forum thread, hope that's OK mods?

Heh! They did that to Australians about seven years ago and mailed supplementary cheques about a week or so later [pre-EFT days]

I also have vague memories of an incorrect rate being used a while back. I seem to remember they adjusted the next month's payment?

You'd think with all the boffins they employ, a simple exchange rate calculation would be straight-forward :-)

But at some point a human being inputs the rate to be used.

That's a significant error. Hope they correct it soon!

Well, we've had an update on the adsense forum at Google. They admit the rate was wrong, are working to resolve the issue and will contact impacted publishers via email soon.

A slightly better start to the day than yesterday!

@piatkow, my comment was a little bit tongue in cheek, as yes a human probably does input the rate at some stage. But you would have thought that there would be checks in place to prevent this kind of thing happening especially where the data entry affects outgoing payments? Just a simple alert when the figure is say plus or minus 10% of last month with override, or a second set of eyeballs on the figures. I realise none of these are foolproof but little cost to Google.

I think Barclays gave them their exchange rate =]

Has anyone got their payment yet?

Google sent an email a week ago saying a payment would be made this week, but so far it's Thursday here and nothing yet.

I received the same email, but no payment yet either.

In my adsense payments, it still shows as 'Adjustment - Other' for my June earnings to be paid at the end of July.

All very confusing and frustrating.

I see my account now shows "Payment issued 17th July"...

Mine too and the money has hit my bank account.

I really can't believe the lack of customer service from Google during this whole fiasco.

Two weeks to fix something like this is really a shame.

The good thing is that payments include June payouts, so it's a good thing to get this a couple of weeks in advance.

That's called a get square and you triggered my memory, I think they did the same with me those many years back.

Nice touch!

Yes, I can now see the payment in my account...

Good stuff. BUT which account? AdSense or real MIB?

Actual money in my bank account...
